Engineering Management

Technical leadership across engineering disciplines — requirements, interfaces and engineering decisions managed from concept through to site.

The capability

On a multidisciplinary project no drawing is ever wrong on its own. Engineering failures live between disciplines — in requirements never flowed down and interfaces each party assumed the other held.

MAP engineering managers own the technical baseline. They establish requirements management that traces client need through to verified delivery, define interfaces between disciplines and contracts precisely enough to be tested, and run the engineering governance — decisions, derogations and concessions — through which the technical position stays coherent as the project changes around it.

The role does not end when drawings are issued. Our consultants carry technical authority into construction: technical queries answered against design intent, site-driven changes assessed for their consequences across every affected discipline, and the as-built record kept truthful — so what was accepted at handover is what was actually built.

How MAP delivers it

Engineering management support covers single-discipline projects through to multi-contract programmes.

Requirements and baseline

Requirements captured, flowed down and verified, with a controlled technical baseline that survives design development and change.

Interface definition and control

Discipline, contract and system interfaces defined in registers with owners, acceptance criteria and closure evidence — not left to goodwill.

Engineering governance

Structured management of technical decisions, derogations and concessions, so departures from standard are deliberate, recorded and approved.

Design-to-site continuity

Technical query resolution, assessment of field changes against intent, and control of the as-built record through to handover.
