MAP Construction
Risk Management
Risk identification, quantitative analysis and contingency control for capital projects — so exposure is understood before it is priced, reported or absorbed.
The capability
Most risk registers describe last month's worries. The risks that hurt major projects are the ones nobody scored — untested assumptions, quiet dependencies and interfaces that no single party owns.
MAP risk specialists run identification that goes looking for those risks: structured workshops with the people who hold the knowledge, challenge of the schedule and estimate assumptions beneath the register, and ownership assigned to individuals who can actually act. Our consultants have run the risk function on major UK infrastructure and energy projects at every stage from bid to close-out.
Analysis then puts numbers on the exposure. Quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis — QSRA and QCRA — models the register against the programme and estimate, tests contingency against a stated confidence level, and gives leadership a defensible basis for the reserves it holds and the risks it escalates.
How MAP delivers it
Risk support runs from facilitation of a single workshop to ownership of the project risk function.
Identification and workshops
Facilitated workshops and structured reviews that surface real exposure — including the assumptions and interfaces that registers habitually miss.
QSRA and QCRA
Quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis, with risk models mapped properly to programme logic and estimate structure rather than bolted on.
Contingency management
Contingency set against analysed exposure and confidence levels, then drawn down through a controlled process as risks retire or mature.
Escalation and reporting
Risk reporting that separates noise from threat, with clear triggers for escalation and a live link into change and decision-making.
