MAP Construction
Programme Recovery
Decisive intervention on distressed programmes — an honest diagnosis, a credible re-baseline and the senior leadership to hold it.
The capability
By the time a programme is called distressed, everyone involved already suspects it. What has usually been missing is a version of the truth stark enough to force a decision.
Recovery starts with diagnosis, not activity. MAP consultants review the programme, cost and commercial position forensically: where the critical path really runs, what the forecast looks like without optimism, which problems are structural and which are noise. Our consultants have led this work on major projects in difficulty — the findings are delivered plainly, to the people who can act on them.
Then the intervention. A re-baseline the team can commit to, built on demonstrated productivity rather than the original assumptions. Resequencing where it buys time, descoping where it must. Changes to organisation and reporting made quickly and once. Recovery holds only if leadership holds it — so MAP stays accountable through delivery, not just through the report.
How MAP delivers it
Recovery engagements move from diagnosis to a held re-baseline in weeks, not quarters.
Rapid diagnosis
A short, forensic review of schedule, cost, commercial position and organisation, concluding in findings sharp enough to decide on.
Re-baselining
A recovery programme built on evidenced productivity and achievable logic, with the descoping and resequencing decisions made explicit.
Recovery leadership
Senior consultants embedded to drive the turnaround — owning the plan, the cadence and the difficult conversations until performance stabilises.
Confidence rebuilding
Reset reporting to clients, boards and funders: what went wrong, what changes, and evidence period by period that the recovery is holding.
