BIM & 3D Coordination

Model federation, clash detection and information management to ISO 19650 — coordination that turns discipline models into a single buildable design.

The capability

A federated model is only as trustworthy as the process behind it. Coordination is not a software function; it is a discipline with an owner and a deadline.

Our specialists coordinate multi-discipline design models for infrastructure and energy projects: establishing the common data environment, agreeing the model breakdown and level of information need, federating discipline models on a fixed rhythm, and running structured clash detection with resolution tracked to closure. The framework is ISO 19650; the output is a design the site can rely on.

Coordination fails quietly when clashes are found but never owned. We run it as a managed process — issues assigned, prioritised against the construction sequence and closed before the affected packages reach procurement. The measure of success is not the clash count in a report; it is what never reaches site.

How MAP delivers it

BIM coordination is provided as an embedded role or as a managed service across the design team.

Information management to ISO 19650

Setting up and operating the common data environment, information protocols, naming conventions and exchange requirements for the project.

Model federation

Regular federation of discipline models with agreed coordinates, tolerances and model quality checks, so every coordination review starts from the same baseline.

Clash detection and resolution

Structured clash workshops with issues assigned, tracked and closed in order of construction priority — never left as an unread report.

Coordination for construction

Sequencing reviews, temporary works integration and 4D-ready models where the programme calls for them, keeping the model useful beyond design.
