The capability
Mechanical systems are judged twice: once at commissioning, and every day of operation after it. Decisions made early in design set the maintenance burden for the life of the asset.
Across UK infrastructure and energy assets, our engineers have designed pumping and pipework systems, HVAC for plant rooms, control rooms and switchrooms, cooling for heat-dense equipment, and the plant selection decisions that sit behind all of it. Design follows recognised British and European standards and manufacturers' verified performance data — not catalogue optimism.
The discipline earns its keep at the interfaces. Duty and standby philosophy, maintenance access, plant replacement routes and the routing of services through congested spaces are resolved in the model, with the other disciplines, before they become site problems. That is where mechanical design either supports the programme or quietly undermines it.
