The capability
Temporary works carry some of the highest loads a project will ever see, for the shortest time, with the least tolerance for error. They deserve permanent-works rigour.
Our engineers' temporary works experience spans major UK construction: falsework and formwork schemes, propping and needling for structural alterations, excavation support from trench boxes to king-post walls, crane bases and outrigger foundations, and working platform assessments. Every design is prepared against a formal design brief and checked to the category BS 5975 demands of it.
Good temporary works design starts with the method, not the kit. We design around the contractor's sequence, plant and preferred equipment where it is sound — and say plainly when it is not. Where the risk calls for a Category 3 check, we produce calculations and drawings an independent checker can follow assumption by assumption.
