The capability
A structure carries its design assumptions for fifty years. Structural engineering on major projects is the discipline of making those assumptions explicit, defensible and checked.
Our engineers' design experience covers steelwork and reinforced concrete across UK infrastructure and energy — frames, substructures, retaining structures, equipment supports and the awkward junctions between new and existing construction. Design is carried out to the Eurocodes, with load paths, robustness and movement addressed from concept rather than patched in at detail stage when the options have narrowed.
Existing structures demand a different kind of judgement. Record drawings rarely tell the whole story: original design codes, hidden details and decades of alteration all shape what a structure can safely carry. Our engineers scope investigation before analysis, then assess, strengthen and modify with a clear line from evidence to conclusion.
